Contact The iPhone Team
Questions about your free government iPhone, your application, or your plan? Send us a message here and we will reply by email. For quick fixes like activation and signal problems, our support page is often faster, and if you have not applied yet, you can start your free iPhone application first, then message us with your reference code.
Your Answer Might Already Be Here
These four pages answer most of the questions we receive. Have a quick look first, and if your answer is not there, the message form below is ready when you are.

Fill this in and press the button. It does not send anything by itself: it opens your own email app with everything filled in, so you can read it over and press send there. Nothing you type is stored on this page.
Please add your name, an email address with an @ in it, and your message, then press the button again.
No email app on this device? Your message is not lost: everything you typed stays on this page, so you can copy it and send it from any email account you use.
What to Include, and What to Never Send
Include these
- The name on your application, spelled the same way as on your application
- Your TI- reference code, if you have one
- Your ZIP code, so we can find the right records
- What happened, and when: what you were doing, what the phone or page said, and the date it started
Never send these
- Your full Social Security number. We will never ask for it by email
- Passwords for any account, ours or anyone else’s
- Bank or card details. Email is not a safe place for them
If a message claiming to be from us ever asks for any of these, do not reply to it. Come back to this page and write to us fresh instead.
What Happens Next
-
We read it and match your reference
Your message lands with our team. If you included your TI- reference code, we pull up your application or account before we reply, so the answer fits your case.
-
We reply by email
You get an answer with the fix or the next step in plain language. Keep replying in the same thread and the whole conversation stays in one place, for you and for us.
-
If it is out of our hands, we tell you plainly
Some things are decided elsewhere, for example by the National Verifier, and some need a replacement decision from us. Either way, we tell you what happens next rather than leaving you guessing.
Contact FAQs
How fast will you reply?
We answer messages in the order we receive them, so there is no queue to jump. Including your TI- reference code speeds things up a lot, because we can find your application or account straight away instead of writing back to ask for details.
Can I call you instead of emailing?
Everything is handled by email, and that is deliberate: it gives you a written record of what was said and agreed, and it keeps your reference code attached to every reply. Write to us through the form on this page and keep replying in the same thread.
I do not have a reference code. Can I still message you?
Yes, absolutely. The reference code is optional. Just include your full name and ZIP code in your message so we can find the right records. If you have not applied yet, you will get a TI- reference code when you apply.
Where do I check the status of my application?
Message us with your TI- reference code and we will look it up and reply by email. If your phone has already arrived and something is not working, the fixes on our support page solve most activation problems faster than waiting for a reply.
Can you approve my application?
No. Lifeline applications are decided by the National Verifier, not by us or by any provider. What we can do is help you fix the problems that cause delays or rejections, such as a missing document, a name that does not match, or an existing benefit at your address, and guide you through applying again.
Rather Apply First?
If you have not applied yet, start there: it takes a few minutes, and you will get the TI- reference code that makes every future message faster.
Start Your ApplicationThe iPhone is a private wireless service provider participating in the FCC Lifeline program. We are not a government agency. Email is not a secure way to send sensitive information, so never send your full Social Security number, passwords, or bank details by email. The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) ended on June 1, 2024.
