Every XR and X we send is tested for battery health, screen, Face ID, cameras and calling, then cleaned and fully reset before shipping.
iPhone XR & X (Refurbished)
The big-screen step up. Both the XR and the X drop the Home button for a full-front screen and Face ID unlock. Pick the model you like below: the XR is the newer, longer-lasting all-rounder; the X is the premium one with the sharper OLED screen and dual camera.
- Plan included: your Lifeline service runs under the same terms as our free phones. See the plans page.
- Condition: refurbished and quality-checked, Face ID tested on every phone.
- In the box: your chosen phone, charging cable and SIM kit, with activation steps included.
Look at It, and It Unlocks
No Home button, no fingerprint. The XR and X use Face ID: glance at the phone and it unlocks, even to confirm payments and open banking apps. The screen fills almost the whole front, so videos, photos, maps and video calls feel much bigger, without the phone feeling huge in your hand.
- Face ID unlock and app sign-in on both models
- Edge-to-edge screens, 6.1 inch on XR, 5.8 inch OLED on X
- Gesture controls, swipe up to go home, simple to learn in a day

Which One Should You Pick?
Pick the XR if you…
- Want the longest battery life and the bigger screen
- Prefer newer software (iOS 18) and the faster A12 chip
- Like color choices and a slightly lower price
Pick the X if you…
- Want the sharpest screen (OLED) and the best camera zoom
- Like the premium steel frame and smaller size
Know the limits
- Both are discounted, not free. The free big-chip choice is the iPhone SE (smaller screen)
- No 5G on either phone, 4G LTE only
- The X runs iOS 16 as its final version, and OLED screen repairs cost more than LCD

iPhone XR & X FAQs
iPhone XR or iPhone X, which is better?
For most people, the XR. It is a year newer, has the faster A12 chip, the longest battery life of its generation, a bigger 6.1 inch screen and newer software. Choose the X if the sharper OLED screen, dual camera with zoom, and premium steel frame matter more to you than battery and software age.
How much do the XR and X cost?
Both are discounted upgrades, not free phones. Your exact price depends on the model, storage and current stock, and is confirmed with you after your Lifeline approval, before you pay anything. If the price does not suit you, our free iPhone 7 or SE are always an option.
Why are two models on one page?
Because they are the two big-screen Face ID options in the same discounted tier, and most visitors compare exactly these two. On your application you simply choose XR or X, and we confirm which is in stock for you.
Is Face ID reliable?
Yes. Face ID works in most lighting, learns changes like glasses, and is used for unlocking, banking apps and purchase approvals. Every phone we ship has its Face ID tested. If you prefer a fingerprint, the iPhone SE and 8 use Touch ID instead.
Do the XR and X have 5G?
No, both use 4G LTE. 5G starts with the iPhone 12, which we offer as a paid upgrade. For video calls, streaming and maps, 4G LTE on these phones is fast and reliable across our coverage.
How long will the XR battery last?
The XR is known for the strongest battery of any iPhone of its time, comfortably a full day of normal use for most people. Every refurbished phone we send is battery-health checked, and we never send a phone with a weak battery.
